Al Berman is president of the DRI Foundation, a MBCP, a NFPA committee member, a member of the ASIS BCP technical committee, a member of the Committee of Experts for ANSI-ANAB, a former member of the NY City Partnership for Security and Risk Management, former President of Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) and the co-chair for the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation committee to create the new standard for the US Private Sector Preparedness Act (PL 110-53). With a career that has spanned 25 years he has served as a President and CIO for a major financial institution, National Practice Leader for Operational Resiliency for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Global Business Continuity practice leader for Marsh.
Berman was a keynote speaker for the American Red Cross, IBM, RIMS, FBI, Institutional Investors Forum, Securities Industry Association, Pharmaceutical Treasures Conference, Gartner Group, and conferences in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Panama, Singapore, Malaysia, China, UAE and many other countries.
He has served as Member of the Council of Experts for ANSI-ANAB who set the credentialing standard for certifying bodies for PS-Prep, a Member of Advisory Committee for Congressionally funded Project for National Security Reform, a member of the Standards Committee for the UAE, advisor to standards committees in Mexico and Singapore.
