Alexandra Shaheen

Alexandra Shaheen’s roots originate in technical program management. At The New York Times, she worked on content management and infrastructure tooling projects, including the buildout of the newsroom article editor. In 2020, she led the NYT technology organization’s election readiness effort, where she worked with engineers across the organization to identify and execute resilience opportunities ahead of the historic news cycle. She found passion for business continuity, incident response, and site reliability engineering via this special project. She is now Director of Information Security, Crisis and Incident Management and leads enterprise business continuity across NYT. Outside of work, Shaheen is passionate about living a slow and leisurely life, enjoying yoga, travel, and the remote beach town she moved to during the pandemic.
