Arunabh Mitra is the Chief Continuity Officer for HCL Technologies, a $7 billion information technology company with 120,000 employees and operations in 32 countries. His charter is to help evolve, shape and deploy the business continuity strategy for HCL’s clients from diverse industries and strengthen the resilience framework at HCL.

With a sound understanding of the globalized marketplace, Mitra has hands on expertise in conceptualizing and delivering continuity planning in various industries, including healthcare, consumer, retail, and manufacturing. Mitra has hands-on experience managing 200+ business continuity events over the course of his career.

Prior to joining HCL, Mitra was the Global Head for Business Continuity at GENPACT. A pioneer of Indian outsourcing, GENPACT started as the global back office of General Electric in 1997 and is now a $2 billion+ company with 500+ clients.

Mitra has been deeply engaged in the field of continuity and crisis management for the last 13 years. He is certified in 6 Sigma Methodology and his current passion is about researching the impact of 4th industrial revolution on our society, business and individuals and its knock on effect on risk management.

Mitra is the Chair of the India Think Tank of the Business Continuity Institute(BCI). In this capacity he designed and set up the Think Tank, which happens to be India’s first dedicated Think Tank on Business Continuity and the world’s fourth. In addition to this he is also the Vice Chair for the BCI forum at Hyderabad India, where in he works extensively with ecosystem players and industry bodies like NASSCOM (The National Association of Software and Services Companies is a trade association of Indian Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing industry) to raise the profile of BCM in India and promote BCI as a leading voice of BCM in the country. Arunabh forged a valuable partnership with NASSCOM and BCI Hyderabad to build a 4 pillared relationship designed around Research, Skill Building, Preparedness and Thematic Risk Events in Business Continuity – a model which has proven to be a big success in Hyderabad and will be soon replicated across India.
