Bobby Williams was the 2016 DRI International Honor Roll Award recipient. He earned his MBCP from the DRI and his MBCI from the BCI. He has worked in the IT industry for 25 years in technical roles, vendor education, pre/post sales engineering, disaster recovery management, and business continuity management.
Williams has BC and DR experience in programs for global financial companies, healthcare companies, and government power generation companies. He has consulted on DR programs for a global consulting company. He has extensive training in operating systems, storage/SAN technologies, networks, and programing. He worked as an instructor of operating systems and systems integration for Sun Microsystems and HP.
Williams serves the business continuity profession as a Principal on the NFPA 1600 Technical committee and was the inaugural Chair of the DRI International Glossary for Resiliency.
He has certifications and experience with ISO 22301 and ISO 27001 audit and extensive experience in NIST Cybersecurity assessments.
Williams has a BSEE degree from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard as an artillery officer. He lives in North Carolina with his wife, Susan, and two sons, Robby and Johhny.
