David Young

David Young is a certified Emergency Management and Business Continuity Professional who began his career in the United States Air Force. During his 20 years in the Air Force he traveled the world leading an array of specialized crisis response teams to include roles as the Search and Rescue Coordinator for the Horn of Africa and as a World-Wide Humanitarian Airlift Mission Director. Young also was the lead Emergency Management Director for an HH-53 Crash and F-15 Crash in the UK, and a KC-135 crash in Kyrgyzstan.

After retiring from the Air Force in 2015 Young began working at DFW International Airport as the Senior Emergency Manager where he led the team in developing the world’s most advanced Aviation Emergency Management program. Leveraging his talent for technology he developed patented technologies for Mass Casualty Patient Tracking and Crowd-Sourced Active Threat Mapping, winning international Technology and Innovation awards with the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). With a diverse set of certifications in Business Continuity, Project Management, SixSigma LEAN, and Mobile App Development, including certifications in Crisis Leadership and Business Resilience from both Harvard and MIT, he is constantly seeking ways to bring innovation and advancement to the Crisis Leadership discipline.

Currently, Young is the first ever Business Continuity Leader for Panasonic Energy of North America at the Gigafactory in Sparks Nevada. In this role he is the nexus for the company’s Business Continuity, Cyber Security, Emergency Management, Employee Health and Safety, Crisis Communications, and Risk Management teams.
