Janice Campbell

Tri-State Canine Response Team

Having worked in the mental health field for 20 years, Janice Campbell is uniquely qualified to create and to lead the Tri-State Canine Response Team. Knowing of the healing benefits of the canine/human connection, Campbell founded Tri-State in 2015 and remains president of an all-volunteer organization that has grown from five handler/dog teams to 98 teams serving 50 U.S. states and internationally. She has been a tester and observer certifying canines for Alliance of Therapy Dogs for the past 14 years. In addition, Campbell actively instructs canine therapy dog classes at Wonderdogs in Berlin, NJ and is a tester/observer for the American Kennel Club.

Tri-State Canine Response Team dogs are the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT-NJ) Ambassador Dogs for the entire state of New Jersey, where they serve people suffering from a crisis, large or small. Campbell is a Disaster Relief Crisis Counselor (DRCC), part of the Traumatic Loss Coalition (TLC), instructor for (QPR) suicide prevention training, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team serving those suffering a personal or community loss of life. Her proudest role is a dog mom of two Golden Retrievers, Logan and Eliana.
