Mark D. Evans


Mark D. Evans has over 13 years of senior leadership experience in emergency management, business continuity and crisis management spanning public, private, and NGO sectors. His career has provided him with opportunities to develop and enhance highly effective response programs for trusted organizations like goeasy, Toronto Stock Exchange/TMX Group, Regional Municipality of York, The Salvation Army, the NGO Alliance of Ontario, and as co-Founder of the Canadian Disaster Response Organization.

Outside of training and exercises, Evans has demonstrated his response leadership capabilities at many emergencies, disasters, and corporate crises including more than 100 structure fires and police incidents, multiple mass evacuations, mass casualty incidents, the Covid-19 Pandemic (including as team recipient of DRI International’s 2022 Award of Excellence for Covid-19 Response and Recovery of the Year), 2017 Floods in Ottawa and Durham Region, the 2015-2016 Syrian Resettlement, 2014 Parliament Hill Terrorist Situation, physical security and corporate crises events.

As a champion for innovation and creative thinking during complex disaster operations, the highlight of Evans’ career to date was as planning lead for a Covid-19 Transitional Shelter, to support and protect residents experiencing homelessness during the pandemic, at a 5-star luxury resort.
