Nicole Boothman-Shepard


Nicole Boothman-Shepard is AECOM’s Vice President and Senior Director for Resilience + Recovery and global executive advisor on disaster risk reduction. She is passionate about partnering on strategic risk reduction for shocks and stresses and facilitating equitable and transformative community recovery. She has facilitated the award of $9B in federal disaster funding for post-disaster stabilization and resilient recovery for public sector clients. She spearheads program management on major and catastrophic recovery focusing on best-value building and infrastructure investments and all aspects of pre-disaster risk avoidance, resilience and mitigation. She provides strategic advisement on leveraging positive social, economic, and environmental co-benefits. She is also a contributing author of Climate Change and the Built Environment (ACEC 2022) and lead author for the National Academies TRB publication, Contracting Strategies Guidebook for the Administration of Concurrent, Regional Emergencies and Disasters. Prior to joining the private sector, she was Executive Director of the Rhode Island Service Alliance with a dual appointment as the State’s Vulnerable Populations Coordinator.
