Ryan Longman, CBCP, is VP, Enterprise Business Continuity & Resiliency for Zions Bancorporation, based in Salt Lake City, UT, where he manages the enterprise’s business continuity (BC) program, including incident and emergency management, BC planning, and BC project management. Longman oversees business continuity policies and procedures required for coordinating, maintaining, and enhancing an organizational resiliency strategy. He supports the risk management framework, identifies emerging risks and associated risk mitigation strategies, as well as adherence to and strategic alignment with regulatory and industry business continuity guidelines. He is responsible for the identification of today’s emerging risks (e.g., cyber security, third party service providers, workplace violence), and associated risk mitigation strategies, in addition to the requirements of the Gramm Leach Bliley and Sarbanes Oxley acts related to business continuity and the security of information.
Prior to joining Zions, he was Section Manager, Preparedness “Be Ready Utah,” for the State of Utah Division of Emergency Management where he managed the State’s emergency preparedness program “Be Ready Utah”, as well as the Citizen Corps program and the Utah Private Sector Emergency Management Coordinating Council. He coordinated community outreach efforts in registering over 940,000 citizens to participate in Utah’s first ever state-wide earthquake drill, The Great Utah ShakeOut.
