Assistant Vice President for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, East West Bank

Steven Lei, CBCP, is a business operations leader with extensive experience in risk management, organizational strategy, and human resources in both the public and private sectors. He is Assistant Vice President for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery at East West Bank, a publicly traded commercial bank with over 120 branches and corporate offices in the U.S., China, and Hong Kong. In this role, he provides leadership in crisis management and business resilience initiatives to ensure the bank’s ability to withstand and recover from business disruptions.

Previously, Lei held business continuity and finance roles with the Federal Reserve Bank and served as a consultant at Facebook (now Meta), advising the company on business resilience and regulatory compliance.

A seasoned non-profit board leader, his current and past board service includes the University and State Employees Credit Union, the Chinese Historical Society of America and Museum, the Phillips Academy, a special education school in Alameda, CA, and Opera Parallèle, a contemporary opera company.

Lei earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, San Diego, Master’s degree at the London School of Economics, and has completed the Accelerated Management Program at the Yale School of Management.
